I’m a city girl. Along with a love for coffee and “real” tea (without sugar!), I enjoy playing board games, spending time with family, and exploring on my bicycle. I’m in my senior year at Huntington University as a music business major.
On the outside, perhaps I look like any average twenty-first-century American music fan. But I spent the first seventeen years of my life in Tokyo, Japan, and that gives me a different perspective on the arts and life in general. In fact, I grew up around music. For the first ten years of my life, my parents led the time of musical worship at the small church we attended. In the last few years, I have developed a passion for worship leading as well.
For me, music isn’t just a side part of my life; it defines me. I think music has a way of connecting you to other places when you’re not there physically. It makes the world seem like a smaller place. I want people to see the importance of experiencing other cultures through music. Maybe I can help people get just a little bit closer to achieving that by leading them into worship of our Savior.
